Our Grandma, Ruth Etta Barr, married Calvin Stoey Graham Ruth's father was Harvey Joseph Barr who was born May 7th 1870 to Joseph Barr and Mary Wasser.

On April 7th 1892 Harvey married Sarah Henretta (Sallie) Ellis of Pottstown Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Harvey and Sarah Barr’s marriage application is dated April 2nd 1892. [1] 

Harvey was 21 years old, marrying 1 month short of his 22nd birthday. He listed his residence as Pottstown. Sarah was 19 years old, suggesting she was born in 1873. Her middle initial was H., and her parents were James, and her mother was named Sarah. She listed her residence as 1139 N. 11th Street, Reading. Together they had five children. [2]

i.    William Ellis Barr was born Saturday, August 5th 1893, [3] and died November 11th 1893.

ii.   Ellis David Barr was born Friday, November 9th 1894, and married Phora Z. Trump.

iii.  Joseph Ralph Barr was born Wednesday, February 10th 1897. He was baptized June 8th 1897 at St Paul´s Memorial United Church of Christ, Reading Berks County Pennsylvania. [4]

iv.   Sara May Barr was born Tuesday, May 7th 1906 and died August 15th 1906. [5]

v.     Ruth Etta Barr was born May 5th 1908 to Harvey Barr and Sarah (Sally) Ellis. On June 29th 1927 Ruth married Calvin Stoey Graham of Mongul Franklin County. They married in Harrisburg Dauphin County Pennsylvania. Ruth died August 26th 1994, and she was laid to rest with her husband at the Dillsburg Cemetery, York County Pennsylvania. [6]

vi.   Hazel (Honey) Elizabeth Barr was born Wednesday, December 7th 1910 and died July 13th 1993. In 1933 Honey married Elmer (Ted) Theodore Larson at the Olivet Presbyterian Church Harrisburg. Ted was born in 1906 and died May 14th 1984. They were both laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County Pennsylvania. [7]  Honey and Ted had no children.

Harvey died February 3rd 1951, and Sarah died November 19th 1953. They were laid to rest in the family plot, Grandview Lawn 351, Paxtang Cemetery located in Paxtang, Dauphin County Pennsylvania.

Ellis David Barr (1894 – 1969)

Ellis David Barr was born Friday, November 9th 1894, and married Phora Z. Trump who was born in 1895. Together they had four children.

Ellis Barr died in 1969, and Phora in 1961. They were laid to rest in the family plot, Grandview Lawn 351, Paxtang Cemetery located in Paxtang, Dauphin County Pennsylvania.

i.    Ellis Luxeon Barr [8] served and died in WWII. [9] He married Nava Jean Horstick.

ii.   Violet Barr

iii.  Eugene T. Barr was born in 1921, and died October 7th 1944 while serving in the Philippines during WW II. He was assigned to the Army Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, Army Technician Third Grade in the 13th Squadron of the 801 Medical Army Evacuation Team.

iv.   Betty Barr married William (Bill) Millham. [10]

Joseph Ralph Barr

Joseph Ralph Barr was born Wednesday, February 10th 1897. He was baptized June 8th 1897 at St Paul´s Memorial United Church of Christ, Reading Berks County Pennsylvania. [11] He always went by the name of Ralph, and was a WW I veteran.

Ralph lived in New York for a time where he married and had two children; a boy and girl.

i.    Unknown boy

ii.   Unknown girl

After Ralph divorced, he lived with a common law wife Rose. Together they had six children.

iii.  Alberta – She was also known as Birdie among family members. She married Watson, and together they had two children. [12] 

a.    Deborah (Debbie) Watson who had son’s Jonathan and Matthew

b.    Doug Watson who married Amanda. He is a housing contractor.

iv.   Marion Barr, as of 2005 she lived in Odessa Texas.

v.    Ralph Barr, had a daughter named Kelly.

vi.   James Barr – He was also known as Jimmy among family members.

vii.  George Barr

viii. Sally Barr - She lived in California, She married Mr. Aquirre, and they had four children.

a.    Kathy Aquirre who married James Leonard, and they had daughter Alyssa Leonard born January 29th 1991; daughter Kaila Leonard born May 20th 1997; son Sean Leonard born April 24th 1999.

b.    Kenneth Aquirre who married Shannon. They had a daughter Alex who was born April 10th 1991, and another daughter McKenzie who was born December 11th 1998.

c.    Marie Aquirre who had a Christopher. Chris was October 4th 1990, and he would eventually be adopted by his grandmother Sally Barr-Aquirre and her husband.

d.    Rob Aquirre who married Christine.

After Ralph’s common law wife, Rose, died, Ralph married Ida Wilson, who died sometime in 2001. They lived in Odessa Ector County Texas, and are both buried in Midland, Midland County Texas. Ralph and Ida had no children.
