Franklin Marion [1] Wrightstone was the fifth child born to Michael Wrightstone and Eliza Jane Kline on January 20th 1872 in the Siddonsburg area of Monaghan Township York County Pennsylvania.

In 1900 Frank living and working as a farm laborer for Chris and Laura Harbold in Monroe Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania. [2]  Frank eventually rented a farm, and married Edith E. Miller in 1902. Edith was born March 1880 to Henry W. and Emaline (Emma) Miller in Upper Allen Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Frank and Edith began their family living in Kohlertown, which is located on South York Street on the outskirts of Mechanicsburg Cumberland County Pennsylvania. Their children attended the Kolhlertown School in 1913. By 1915 Frank had a small Wrightstone reunion in Shiremanstown Pennsylvania, which included his brother William and his family, and his sister Ida and her family.

On Thursday February 9th 1920, while Frank's sister-in-law Christeena Wrightstone went to Park Ridge New Jersey to attend to her mother's illness, Frank's brother Ira and Frank's wife Edith and her children went to visit Frank's and Ira's brother, William and his family in Mechanicsburg. [3]  It was about this time Frank was working as an electrician for the steel mill, and later worked for the local Trolley Company. Frank is standing all the way to the left, in bib-overlls and big mustache.

Frank died April 22nd 1929 [4]  from angina pectoris. [5]  Edith died in 1949. They were both laid to rest in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg Cumberland County Pennsylvania. [6] 

Frank and Edith Wrightstone had eight children.

i.    Ralph Henry Wrightstone (1902-1945)

ii.   Jacob Wayne Wrightstone (1904-1986)

iii.  Leroy (Roy) Oscar Wrightstone (1905-1980)

iv.   Sarah Edith Wrightstone (1907-19)

Ralph Henry Wrightstone (1902-1945)

Ralph Henry Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller on September 2nd 1903 in Upper Allen Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Ralph was 24 years old when he married 27 year old Mary Mae Fink October 9th 1926 in Cumberland County Pennsylvania. Mary was born May 4th 1899 to Jeremiah Fink and Catherine Miller.  [7] 

Mary's father, Jeremiah F. Fink, was born about 1865, and died on February 25th 1944, age 79, in Highspire Dauphin County Pennsylvania. Jeremiah is buried in the Highspire Cemetery, Highspire Dauphin County Pennsylvania.  [8] 

Ralph died in 1945, and Mary died on January 4th 1969. They were both laid to rest in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg Cumberland County Pennsylvania.  [9] 

Ralph and Mary Wrightstone had five children.

i.    Ross Wrightstone was born 1921.

ii.   Ralph H. Wrightstone Jr. was born on August 11th 1927. He married Barbara.

iii.  Ruth Wrightstone was born May 6th 1930, and she never married.

iv.   Mary E. Wrightstone: b. September 22nd 1931, and died July 31th, 2002, and she never married. [10] 

v.    Carolyn R. (Caroline) Wrightstone was born on September 10th1940, and died September 12th 1976. She married Alan Parker who was born in 1938. Alan and Carolyn Parker children: Shane and Craig

Jacob Wayne Wrightstone (1904-1986)

Jacob Wayne Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller  [11]  was born March 4th 1904 in Upper Allen Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania. Wayne graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1925. Wayne was an educator and wrote a number of books on educational testing and test measurements.

From 1940 until his death he and his wife lived at 21 Hickory Road Summit New Jersey. Wayne worked for the Bureau of Educational Research, New York City Board of Education in Brooklyn New York. Wayne married Kathleen Corbett Holdsworth.

Wayne died on September 7th 1986 in Summit Union, New Jersey. Wayne and Kathleen had two children.

i.    Jay Wayne Wrightstone, also known as Wayne, was born July 1st 1939. He currently resides at 501 Viterra Court, Kissimmee Florida.

ii.   Kathleen (Kay) Wrightstone was born July 26th 1937. She married Norman Stewart Burr on May 28th 1960. [12]  Norman was the son of Stewart E. Burr of Westfiled New Jersey. Kay later married Mr. Bergmann, and in 2011 they resided in Chatham New Jersey. Kay and Norman had two children: Richard Burr who was born on September 18th 1961, and in 2011 living in Pleasant Ridge, MI; Sandra Burr-Willis who was born September 14th 1963, and in 2011 living in Marquette, MI

Leroy Oscar Wrightstone (1905-1980)

Leroy Oscar (Roy) Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller on October 8th 1905 in Upper Allen Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Roy married Mary K. Morgret (Morgaret) in 1925, and she was born November 2nd 1906. Roy died January 1980 in Camp Hill, and Mary died September 27th 1996 in Camp Hill, Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Roy and Mary Wrightstone had three children.  [13] 

i.    Betty J. Wrightstone who was born in 1926. She was involved in an accident on Nov 25th 1939 with a National Guard truck, where she was a passenger in a car driven by Robert C Meals. Also in the car were Bessie May Morgret, Donald Meals and Margaret J Meals.

When Betty was 21 years old she married 27 year old Stanley Morris Wharton on November 15th 1947 in Harrisburg Dauphin County Pennsylvania. Stanley was born 1920 to Frank Wharton and Sylvia Magonel. [14] 

ii.   Robert L. Wrightstone was born on March 5th 1927, and died June 1981

iii.  Nancy Wrightstone was born June 4th 1933, and she married Gene Enders

Sarah Edith Wrightstone (1907-19)

Sarah Edith Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller 1907 in Shiremanstown Cumberland County Pennsylvania. Sarah was 18 years old when she married 23 year old William Henry Sheaffer September 25th 1925 in Cumberland County Pennsylvania. William was born 1898 to Leonard Sheaffer and Sallie Sipe. [15] 

After they married, the couple lived on Carlton Avenue in Shiremanstown Pennsylvania, not far from her mother Edith Wrightstone.

Sarah and William had four children.

i.    William H. Sheaffer Jr. was born in 1937

ii.   Frederick Sheaffer was born in 1938

iii.  Carline Sheaffer was born June 1939

iv.   Peggy Sheaffer was born after 1940

Lloyd M. Wrightstone (1911-1986)

Lloyd M. Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller February 14th 1911 in Shiremanstown Cumberland County Pennsylvania, and died December 1986 in Lebanon, Lebanon County Pennsylvania.

Lloyd was 28 years old when he married 32 year old Lulu Kate Leap October 22nd 1939 in Waynesboro Franklin County Pennsylvania. Lulu was born 1907 to W. H. Leap and Lulu Kate Shultz. [16]  In 1935 lived in Chicago, Cook County Illinois. Lloyd and Lulu lived at 590 South 5th Avenue in Lebanon, Lebanon County Pennsylvania. [17] 

Lulu died 1970, and Lloyd died Monday, December 1st 1986 while living at Cedar Haven in Pennsylvania. They were both laid to rest in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery Mechanicsburg Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Lloyd and Lulu Wrightstone had three boys.

i.    Donald A. Wrightstone was born August 14th 1941, and died May 9th 1990.

ii.   Lloyd W. Wrightstone was born February 23rd 1943. He married Lizzie R Brazell in 1967 while living in Richland, South Carolina, and in 1986 they lived in Sedona Arizona. Lloyd was 69 years old when he died September 25th 2012.  [18] 

iii.  Jonathan L. Wrightstone lives in Annville Pennsylvania.

Albert Nelson Wrightstone (1913-1996)

Albert Nelson (Al) Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller February 26th 1913 in Shiremanstown Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Al first married about 1938 to Faith Elizabeth Good-Berry, who was born 1907 to Albert and Jennie Hess. In 1930 Faith lived with her mother, Jennie E. Good, in the borough of Camp Hill Cumberland County Pennsylvania. By 1931 she had a son, David Berry, and by 1940 Faith and Al were married, and David Berry lived with them in Shiremanstown. David was listed as a step son in both the 1940 census and Albert's obituary. [19]  Faith's whereabouts after 1940 is still being researched.

After his marriage with Faith, Albert married Palmina LaPietra, [20]  who was born April 6th 1936 to Olga Staniscia and Peter Lapietra. [21]  Olga was the daughter of Luigi and Sarah Staniscia. [22] 

Al lived his entire life in Shiremanstown, Cumberland County Pennsylvania. Albert worked as a policeman and later was the chief of police for Shiremanstown Pennsylvania. He was also a council member in the borough of Shiremanstown. Albert was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member and past president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 76, Tri County Chiefs of Police Association, West Shore Police relief Association, Central Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, Shiremanstown Fire Company, and Shiremanstown Methodist Church.

Palmina died July 25th 1989, and was laid to rest in the Staniscia Family plot located in the Holy Cross cemetery in Harrisburg Dauphin County Pennsylvania. [23]  Al died at age 82 on February 24th 1996 in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania.  [24]  Al was buried at the Rolling Green Memorial Park Camp Hill, Lower Allen Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Albert and Faith Wrightstone had two children.

i.    Albert N. Wrightstone Jr., lived at home when father died.

ii.   Andrew N. Wrightstone lived at home when father died.

George Franklin Wrightstone (1914-1993)

George Franklin Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller October 11th 1914 in Shiremanstown Cumberland County Pennsylvania, and died April 3rd 1993 in Lemoyne, Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

George married Evelyn Ida Kapp on May 15th 1940 in Carlisle. [25]  Ida was born 1918 to Harry Kapp and Katherine Mentzer both of Lemoyne Pennsylvania.

George and Evelyn Wrightstone had two children.

Pearl May Wrightstone (1919-2012)

Pearl Mae Wrightstone was born to Frank Wrightstone and Edith Miller 1918 in Shiremanstown Cumberland County Pennsylvania. She first married George S. Spangler on September 27 th 1934 at the First Church of God in Newville Cumberland County PA, by Reverend S.E. Vance.

George was born 1911 in Cumberland County PA to Charles W. Spangler and Annie E. Shenk, who were both born in Cumberland County Pennsylvania.

Pearl was a Sales Associate for Regina Fashions, Mechanicsburg, a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church located in Highland Park in Camp Hill, and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.

After George died, Pearl then married Martin N. Kogan. [26]  Pearl died Monday, July 30th 2012 in the Thornwald Home in Carlisle Cumberland County Pennsylvania. Pearl's memorial service was held Friday, August 3rd 2012 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. She was laid to rest in the St. John's Cemetery, Hampden Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania. [27] 

Pearl and George Spangler had five children. [28] 

i.    Donald C. (Mouse) Spangler married Ann and lived in Mechanicsburg

ii.   Kenneth G. (Moose) Spangler of New Cumberland

iii.  Jay C. Spangler who married dawn and lived in New Cumberland

iv.   Carol A. Spangler, A.K.A. "Indian"; a twin with her sister Kay was born November 12th 1940 in Ephrata Pennsylvania. She married George R. Fernbaugh of Elliotsburg Pennsylvania. Carol died April 13th 1999. Carol and George three children.

a.  Wanda K. Geesaman of Hamilton Ohio;

b.  Carol S. "Wimp" Fernbaugh of Elliotsburg

c.  Dena R. Dupert of Landisburg.

v.    Kay Spangler is a twin to her sister Carol who was born November 12th 1940 in Ephrata Pennsylvania. Kay married Rittenhouse of Etters Pennsylvania, and later married Gary Bernardi and lived in New Cumberland.

I was named Jay Wayne Wrightstone and thus I am not a "Jr". My Dad never used the name Jacob that I recall. When he was in PA (at his Mom's home), he was called Wayne. At home in NJ and at work in NYC he was called Jay. I have always been Wayne to distinguish myself from my Dad.
